After graduating from Stellenbosch University with a degree in viticulture and oenology, I worked multiple vintages in Australia, France and Portugal. I then returned to home ground and joined the winemaking team at Klein Constantia. In 2004 I was offered the opportunity of starting Anwilka wines in conjunction with Klein Constantia role-players and Bordeaux winemakers. The four invaluable years at Anwilka and my international experience gave me the confidence to start my own brand, and in 2008 I went solo. Since the very first vintage my focus has always been on two very diverse wine regions, namely Elim and the Swartland.
I currently live in Kommetjie, a quaint village on the Southern Peninsula, and make my wines just down the road in Noordhoek. Apart from everything wine-related: making, judging on various panels or just straightforward drinking, I also make time to surf whenever I get the opportunity. I feel that the ocean recharges me, and teaches one patience and respect for nature.

T.S.W Dawn Patrol Rose
Notes of wild strawberries, floral undertones and mouth-watering pomegranate flavours. A beautiful rose gold hue and fantastic dry finish makes this rosé so delicious.
T.S.W Dawn Patrol Chenin Blanc
Vibrant and fresh notes of lime, passion fruit and floral aromas. The zestiness makes this wine come alive in your glass. Finishing clean, with a mineral lingering, making this wine delicious.
T.S.W Dawn Patrol Syrah
The opulent bright fruit and subtle oak with imbued hints of clove spice, ripe cherries and violets creates a lovely, soft – textured and elegant wine to be enjoyed now or over the next 5 years palate.
T.S.W Sauvignon Blanc
‘Vibrant and fresh nose of crushed rocks, ripe pear and yellow gooseberry. Quite energetic on the palate which builds and has more profundity than one may first realise. Walks the tightrope between bracing Elim freshness and ripe fruit brilliantly. Finishes on a dry, clean and very classy note.’
T.S.W Syrah
Beautifully ripe and fresh black and red fruits on the nose accompanied by some aromatic spice – black pepper and cardamom – with some dust and warm earth undertones. On the palate, the fruit is persistent and abundant. Lovely concentration without being overly “heavy”. The fine-grained tannin keeps building in the mouth and with the balanced acid provides a classy framework for the pure red fruit to express itself. A beautiful wine.’
T.S.W Syrah Reserve
Wild strawberries, cranberries, hints of pomegranite and crushed rose petals all neatly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, a lovely saline/spicy thread throughout this Syrah that lends energy and tension towards the precise and detailed finish. This is a superb, sophisticated and nuanced Syrah that should age with style.’
